Kadalai mittai is made all over the places and some brands even manufacture in factory and sell in super markets as kovilpatti kadalai mittai. But none of them can match the taste and quality of original kovilpatti kadalai mittai. It become famous through word of mouth just because of its unique taste. The recipe was originally prepared by Ponnambala Nadar around 1940. The current young experts and  their fathers learnt the trick from him and this is being now passed on to generations. Ponnambala Nadar had a small petti shop in market area. He decided to make kadalai mittai from the excess groundnut from his store. Since he is quality conscious, it become a hit slowly and over the years the kovilpatti kadalai mittai fame spread across the globe.

Why kadalai Mittai is different?

Kovilpatti kadalai mittai is made from jaggery and with all natural ingredients. Regular kadai mittai is made of white sugar. It made with 3 types of jaggery. All of them are melt and mixed at appropriate proportion to make the jaggery syrup.
